Naming your dog:

Naming your dog should be fun. Use your imagination and go beyond Max, Peaches, and Duke. Generally a dog has 2 names. A registered full name and call name. Your A.K.C registration certificate provides you 30 spaces to name your dog. Be sure to choose something unique. Try combining a special memory, colors, emotions, special people, popular short sayings, book titles, ..... to produce a one of a kind name.

Examples:

Registered names:                                                 Call Name:

Lil Buck-A-Roo                                                         Buck

Steel Shot Bebe                                                          Bebe

Pop-N-Go By Mandigo                                              Breezy

Kerrybrook's Midnight Rider                                    Brooke

Doubleplay's Goldenson of Mandigo                        Boscoe

Sometimes the breeder will require or ask that you use their kennel name before the dogs registered name on the A.K.C registration paper. This helps to identify the breeder when someone inquires about your dog or gives the breeder recognition if your dog is ever entered in a dog event.
